The Fiamme Gialle via ferrata in the Pale di San Martino is a very fun and extremely scenic climb that features some rather exposed and steep - but not too long and never vertical - stretches. Breath taking views accompany the hikers during the whole itinerary that offers a 200 meters elevation gap, while the excursion total elevation gap is 1500 meters. The hike offers marvelous views on valley Val Canali and on the Dolomites.

The track features recent, very well maintained and well organized equipment. Metal wires assist the most exposed stretches and the beautiful vertical wall - yet with comfortable rock steps - has brackets to help the hikers. The excursion is recommended for well trained hikers.

The excursion to the via Ferrata Fiamme Gialle, in the Pale di San Martino Range, starts from Rifugio Treviso and it features a long approach to the attack of the via ferrata, about a three hours walk. The descent offers three options:

  • the shortest through the climb route,
  • the most demanding and alpine fashioned through the Vani Alti trail that goes down through a valley between Cima dei Vani Alti and Cima di S. Anna
  • throigh the Gossaldo side going up towards Forcella delle Mughe and down to Rifugio Treviso.
