Information about the Vallée Blanche off-piste skiing

The Vallée Blanche off-piste skiing starts from Courmayeur. With the SkyWay Monte Bianco cable car the free-riders will ride both sections and they will go to Punta Helbronner, 3466 meters. The path goes up towards Mount Col Flambeau from where the marvelous and motley off-piste ski ride starts.

It starts through the underlying slope towards Mount Aiguille du Midi. Passing through the great serac area the path gets to a sloping ground that leads to a hollow and to the foot of the Envers du Plan Glacier. In this area glacier Ghiacciaio del Gigante connects with Glacier Ghiacciaio del Tacul.

From there the ski-riders can traverse heading to Rifugio Requin or keep going towards the area where the glacier settles under the wonderful ice mass of the serac area. The path, then, enters Mer de Glace through which a very beautiful ski ride leads to the cable car of the glacier and to the Montenvers station. From there the little rack train will get the ski-riders to the station of Chamonix 1042 meters (ski descent will be directly to Chamonix if the snow conditions allow it).

The 20km route of the Vallée Blanche off-piste skiing from Courmayeur develops completely on glacier and it features difficult passages among the crevasses. In general this freeride itinerary must not be underestimated. The complete freeride and Glacier equipment is needed.
