The itinerary follows a 1753 historic trail, a great stone wall which used to split the territory of the Serenissima Republic of Venice from the Hapsburg Empire, a boundary that lasted until 1918 when Cortina was annexed to Italy.

The itinerary on snowshoes starts at Malga Giau located along the road from Cortina to Passo Giau. From the malga we get into the woods on snowshoes until we get a glimpse of the wall; we keep following it until we reach just below the large rock of the Becco Muraglia. We continue along the wide ridge, beneath the faces of Monte Ra Gusela. We negotiate the descent along fun slopes gently downgrading to the malga, where we can enjoy delicious food.
