Information about the snowshoeing to forcella Giau and Mondeval

The itinerary for the excursion on snowshoes begins at a small parking lot located along the road between Cortina and Passo Giau. At first the trail climbs gently up to a wide and charming valley followed by a steeper slope leading to Forcella Giau overlooking the wide Mondeval plateau. From the pass we go on easily, reaching the slope of the uniquely slanted face of Corvo Alto, climbing up to the cross on the summit. From the summit we can enjoy a spectacular view: Monte Civetta is on the right, Monte Pelmo is in front, and Monte Antelao on the left. We negotiate the descent along the faces of the Lasoi de Formin, at first zigzagging among large boulders, continuing through a nice larch and pine forest.

The excursion on snowshoes to the Forcella Giau at Mondeval has an elevation gain of 500 meters going up or down and a PD (Low Difficulty) rating.
