The excursion starts from the top station of the Grosté cable car, at an elevation of 2437 meters; the first stretch climbs up fast to the marvelous Passo del Grorté that, from an altitude of 2443 meters, offers an indescribable view. Heading north, then, we cross the steep slopes east from Mount Pietra Grande to reach the east rock spur of Mount Cima Vagliana. After climbing through the beautiful valley Valle delle Giare we reach the summit, at an elevation of 2613 meters, through a last steep slope. Te thrilling descent develops through valley Val Gelada down to Malga Mondifra’ and to the bottom station of the Grosté cable car.

The ski mountaineering excursion to Bocchetta dei Tre Sassi features a 430 meters elevation gain and a 1000 meters elevation loss. It requires good training and mastering of technical skills of ski mountaineering and is rated as BS (Good Skier). Maximum incline is 35 degrees.
