Mount Pizzo Filone -al Filòn, as the locals call it-, 3133 meters, is a very beautiful peak that rises by the main alpine break at the edge of the massif of Mount Piz Paradisin; it rises majestic between valley Valle delle Mine and valley Vallaccia. Admiring it from the Costa delle Mine or from valley Vallaccia, it gets an elegant silhouette and a very charming profile.

The ski mountaineering excursion to Mount Pizzo Filone starts from Arnoga; the itinerary goes up through a nice little street that leads to some picturesque chalets. As they keep climbing west the hikers will reach a mule track that allows to go round the evocative promontory that overlooks the chalets.
After reaching a picturesque little bridge by a mountain cottage, the path turns and it heads north to reach and pass chalet Baita del Pastore. As they keep going west the hikers will enter valley Val Minestra and they will follow it all the way to the Colle delle Mine overcoming some rather steep stretches. The ski mountaineering keeps going in a really evocative and spectacular environment and it is, then, possible to proceed through the wide south ridge or through the steep east side. The ridge gets sharper and sharper and, with no particular issues, it leads the hikers to the summit passing a short steep final stretch that is equipped with a chain.
The stupendous and thrilling descent ski ride takes place through the climb route.
