The ski mountaineering excursion to Mount Camicia, from I Caldai through Colle del Paginone, starts going up the street to the Lignite mine. From the cross road by the Mucciante refreshment point the path climbs up through valley Valle della Macina that skirts the mountain’s slopes all the way to the Caldai area from where, with a short climb, the hikers will get to the ruins of the lignite mine.

The itinerary, then, starts climbing through a narrow valley before popping out at an elevation of about 2050 meters where the slope gets wide and regular. With no obligated path the path gets under the summit and it reaches the main ridge that shortly leads to the summit, at an elevation o 2564 meters.

The marvelous descent ski ride can take place through the climb route or through an interesting variation that leads west towards Fonte Comune and through a couloir rutted by morainic lines.
