The ski mountaineering to Aiguille du Midi starts from Courmayeur. Taking the cable car the mountaineers will go up to Punta Helbronner, at an elevation of 3462 meters, and then to Aiguille du Midi, at an elevation of 3842 meters.

From there a marvelous ski ride starts and it crosses the high part of Glacier du Géant (Géant Glacier) before going down passing under the majestic granite sides of the Satellites of Mont Blanc. The ski ride is absolutely priceless and it offers unforgettable landscapes; it leads to Punta Helbronner from where the hikers can go back to the valley taking the cable car or skiing one of the beautiful off-piste descents starting from Punta Helbronner.

The ski mountaineering to Aiguille du Midi is a relatively easy hike that, never the less, needs to be faced with caution because it crosses large seracs. It features a 250 meter elevation gain and a 650 meter elevation loss. The path can be done in 4-5 hours.
