The excursion starts from the parking lot in Val Fiscalina, at an elevation of 1454 meters, skirting the cross-country ski track we reach Rifugio Fondovalle and we keep climbing towards Val Sassovecchio. Following the creek we climb nice and easy to Alpe dei Piani. Through short slopes, then, we approach the plain at the foot of Mount Sasso di Sesto passing Rifugio Locatelli. After facing the last steep slope, through the final crest, we reach the marvelous summit of Mountl Sasso di Sesto with its incredible view. The ski descent is very pleasant and it takes place through the climb route.
The ski mountaineering excursion to Sasso di Sesto features a 1085 meters elevation gain and loss with a PD (Moderately Difficult) rating. Maximum incline is 30 degrees.
