Information about the ski mountaineering excursion to the Rocchetta di Prendera

The ski mountaineering excursion starts in Campo, a district in Cortina d'Ampezzo, where we park the car. The first section of our route goes through a trail in the woods where we can ride optionally a snowmobile taking us to an elevation of 1816 meters, at Malga Federa. In a spectacular environment, from the Malga we begin skiing along large and wide pastures, climbing gently until we reach the base of the long bastion of the Rocchette. We overtake a slightly steeper section, not at all difficult, continuing along a ridge and up to the cross on the summit of the Rocchetta di Prendera, at an elevation of 2496 meters.

We start our descent at leisure along the path we took on the way up: a pleasant and rewarding ski run, choosing the best line on those wide slopes.

Starting from Malga Federa, the ski mountaineering excursion to the Rocchetta di Prendera has an elevation gain of 680 meters on the way up, or 1300 meters from the parking lot. It is rated F (Easy).
