The excursion starts from the parking lot in Val Fiscalina, at an elevation of 1454 meters. We climb up along the cross-country ski track through an incredibly evocative environment until we reach Rifugio al Fondovalle, at an elevation of 1548 meters. As we proceed through valley Valle Sassovecchio we climb up before majestic vertical walls through wide plains and nice slopes from where we can glimpse the evocative Lakes Bodenalm.
We reach, then, Alpe dei Piani that we will cross through an almost mystic environment, while we are surrounded by a tough yet marvelous nature. Through a last stretch we reach Rifugio Locatelli. The view on the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, the most iconic mounts in the Dolomites, and on Mount Paterno is a precious reward for the big effort. The descent takes place through the climb route.
