The ski mountaineering excursion to Mount Campaccio starts from Livigno, by the Hotel Forcola. In a wonderful environment the path goes up to the chalets at the entrance of valley Valle del Monte and then it goes on through the mule track that leads to the Cascine del Monte and to a wooden Cross.
As they keep climbing -still on the mule track- the hikers will pass a sloping ground and they will cross the evident little valley and the nice and picturesque brook. From there, then, the path goes up through hollows and little valleys towards the rocky ridge of Punta Cantone before entering the hollow right under the west part of the rocky ridge and going on to the evident shelf aside of the summit. If the snow conditions allow the hikers will walk up through the sharp ridge. As an alternative they can go down a little and reach the following shelf from where -through the aerial snowy ridge- they will go round some rocks and they will comfortably reach the summit.
The descent ski ride is absolutely priceless. It develops smooth and constant in ideal declivities through the climb route.
