The backcountry ski excursion to Mount Blockhaus start from the little village of Decontra. From there the hikers will drive through the street that goes out of the village and they will the forest track that leads to Piana Grande. They will keep driving up until it is possible.

On their skis, then, they will climb through the woods until they will reach a bare crag that falls down to valley Valle dell'Orfento from one side and to valley Valle di Santo Spirito from the other. The path keeps going until the base of a large hill that the hikers will go round through a wide clearing. From the top of the hill, at an elevation of 1808 meters, one can enjoy a marvelous landscape on Mount Blockhaus and on Rifugio Di Marco.

On the ridge that connects the hill to Mount Blockhaus the hikers will keep going until they will reach the summit. From the summit the view is priceless. The marvelous descent ski ride takes place through the climb route.
