Information about the ski mountaineering in Lagazuoi

The ski mountaineering in Lagazuoi starts at the top station of the Lagazuoi cable car. After a long traverse in the direction of the Travenanzes Valley and an easy climbing section, we face the couloir leading to Forcella dei Quaire, at an elevation of 2830 meters.

Once we reach the pass, we go down on the couloir opposite the one we took on the way up, on a beautiful freeride ski run, reaching the start of the Forcella del Mortaio. We put our seal skins on again for a short climb on the north couloir followed by another exciting ski run on the south side along moderately steep fun slopes.

The third ski mountaineering section takes us to Forcella Grande where we start a long and beautiful ski run, along a steep couloir at first, then on gentler wide slopes in the direction of Val Badia. This takes us to Capanna Alpina, where we get back to Falzarego Pass by taxi service.

The ski mountaineering excursion to the Tre Forcelle in South Fanis has a gain of 1400 meters up as well as down. It requires good training and mastering of ski mountaineering technical skills because of the OSA (Excellent Mountain Skier) rating. Maximum incline is 40 degrees.
