Information about the ski mountaineering excursion to Forcella dei Quaire

The ski mountaineering itinerary starts at the top station of the Lagazuoi cable car. After a long traverse and an easy climbing stretch taking us near the della Chiesa Bivouac, we face the couloir leading to Forcella dei Quaire at an elevation of 2830 meters. Once we reach the pass, we go down the couloir opposite to the one we took on the way up on a fantastic freeride descent taking us to the Travenanzes Valley.

After we put the seal skins back on, we climb up the valley in the direction of Col dei Bos until we reach the start of the Ra Nona couloir which we take on the way down; we enjoy a beautiful ski run taking us back to the starting point of the cable car.

The excursion also offers alternative itineraries that the guide will take upon request, seeking the best snow. In fact, it is possible to come down from the Forcella dei Quaire going south, along the side we took on the way up, then ski towards the Travenanzes Valley. Or we can climb back up to Forcella Grande and reach Capanna Alpina on a great ski run, at first along a beautiful couloir and later along wider and gentler slopes. At this point we hire a taxi that will take us back to the Falzarego Pass.
