Information about the ski mountaineering excursion to the Forca Rossa at Monte Pelmo

The ski mountaineering itinerary starts from the parking lot at the Staulanza Pass. We climb directly the entire first moraine slope, then we veer to the left, skirting the majestic north faces of Monte Pelmo. The trail keeps climbing up the steep and technical couloir leading up to the Pass of Forca Rossa. The view from there is breathtaking and we can admire the Boite Valley and the grandeur of the Antelao Mountain to the south, while Marmolada and Sasso Lungo dominate the north side.

We begin our descent following the same direction we took on the way up, along the steep couloir at first, then we follow wide but not so steep slopes taking us back to the parking area. If we deviate from the upward itinerary, we can take different and exciting runs along narrow gullies and steep slopes.

The ski mountaineering excursion to the Forca Rossa has a positive/negative elevation gain of 1000 meters and has a D (Difficult) rating.
