The ski mountaineering itinerary starts in the proximity of the deserted army facilities near the Cimabanche Pass. The first climbing section follows a trail through the forest, climbing to a beautiful plateau called Forcella Lerosa. Then we continue through a beautiful fairytale landscape called Valbones Castle, an amphitheater surrounded by red sharp pinnacles and peaks inhabited by herds of roe deer and other wildlife. Then we climb up a rather difficult and steep couloir, leading up to the Colfiedo Pass. We descend from the pass going east, along a marvelously wide and deep valley taking us down on an unforgettable 1300-meter ski run.

The ski mountaineering excursion to Forcella Colfiedo has a 1300 meter positive/negative elevation gain. It requires good training and mastering of technical ski mountaineering skills and is rated AD (Rather Difficult). Maximum incline is 35 degrees.
