Information about the ski mountaineering excursion to Forcella Fanes

The ski mountaineering itinerary begins at the top station of the Lagazuoi cable car. After a short section on the ski run, we continue off-piste along the Lagazuoi Alp which drops down gently to the base of Forcella del Lago. With our seal skins we climb the beautiful gully reaching its top; then, continuing along slopes that are never too steep, down to the Forcella Fanes, at 2810 meters, a favorite scenic overlook towards the north side of the Tofana Group. From the pass we descend along the path we took on the way up, a beautiful freeride run, reaching Capanna Alpina where we take a taxi back to Falzarego Pass.

The ski mountaineering excursion to Forcella Fanes has an elevation gain of 720 meters and a loss of 1100 meters down. It requires good training and excellent technical ski mountaineering skills and is rated AD (Rather Difficult). Maximum incline is 30 degrees.
