Information about the ski mountaineering excursion to the north couloir of Cima Antersas

The hike starts at the entrance of the Valle di Antersasc (Antersasc Valley). First we proceed by a creek and then, through a nice trail in the woods, crossing a sweet clearing, we face a slope that will lead us to the upper part of the valley. That’s where we start climbing to the top of Mount Antersasc. After going through the top crest towards Mount Piz Somplunt, we reach the entrance of the couloir.

The descent starts by overtaking a snow cornice and a steep and narrow slope that will lead us to the beautiful, precipitous - though rather wide -, north couloir that offers a lively and technical ski ride. The descent goes on through wide slopes and in the bushes to the starting point.

The ski mountaineering excursion to the north couloir of Cima Antersas in the Puez-Odle Nature Park features a 950 meters elevation gain and loss. It requires good training and mastering of technical skills of ski mountaineering and is rated as OSA (Excellent Mountain Skier). Max downhill declivity: 40 degrees.
