Information about off-piste skiing in Tonale

The off-piste skiing excursion starts from Tonale Pass (Passo del Tonale), at the parking lot by the Telecabina Paradiso cable car. The skiers will take the cable car to Passo Paradiso, at an elevation of 2585 meters. Going down through the starting part of the ski track the path reaches an evocative and very wide slope.

The itinerary, then, can go on through four possible paths.

Freeride Telecabina
Skiing off-piste the skiers will skirt the ski track under the Telecabina Paradiso cable car. The ski ride develops on very motley ground with super fun humps and hollows. The path, then, connects to the starting part of the ski track.

Freeride Canyon
The path goes down heading straight to the starting station of the cable car and it enters a marvelous canyon that provides a spectacular and super fun ski ride. After popping out of this natural "half-pipe", another very fun stretch gets back to the trod ski track.

Freeride Tonale
A long traverse leads to a wide slope that skirts the Canyon. At the end of the slope the path gets back to the starting part of the ski track.

Freeride Alaska
In the beginning the path follows the previously described itinerary before entering a wide couloir -rather steep in the beginning- and heading to the Sleddog area. As they keep going the hikers will get to an open area where the ski ride is wonderful (particularly if on transformed snow). After crossing brook Torrente Ogliolo, the path passes either under or above the dogs' fenced area and it gets back to the Pegrà ski track where the hikers will take the cable car to go back.

This off-piste skiing in Tonale Pass (Eastern Alps, in the Adamello - Presanella Range) features an easy itinerary that is good for the beginners as well. It reaches a maximum elevation of 2585 meters and it features an 800 meter elevation loss. The descending path faces north.
