Information about the off-piste skiing excursion to Tofane on Canalino del Tridente

The excursion begins at the parking lot of the Freccia del Cielo cable car taking us up to Ra Valles where we take the chairlift to Bus de Tofana. After a few off-piste warm-up spins under the faces of the Tofana di Mezzo, we climb on foot and our skis on our backpack up a slope leading to a panoramic pass. Then we continue our descent secured to the guide, along a fun and thrilling via ferrata reaching the great hole dividing the north and the south sides. This enormous natural window treats us to a magnificent view of the Dolomitic peaks that will stay forever with us as one of the most beautiful scenery in the Dolomites.

The descent at first unfolds along the main couloir coming down from the Bus; then it heads off taking a narrow, hidden couloir between rocky vertical faces treating us to a beautiful and technical ski run heading directly in proximity of Rifugio Dibona. Along a snowy trail and ski slopes we come back to the cable car station in Cortina after a descent totaling almost 2000 meters elevation loss.

The Canalino del Tridente has an off-piste elevation loss of 1600 meters in addition to the regular ski slope sections. It requires good training and mastering of skiing techniques because of the BS (Good Skier) rating. Maximum incline is 37 degrees.
