Information about the off-piste skiing to Vallon de Tofana

The excursion begins at the parking lot of the Freccia del Cielo cable car, taking us up to Ra Valles where we board the chairlift to Bus de Tofana. Then we climb on foot and our skis on our backpack up a slope taking us to a spectacular pass where we set crampons and wear our ferrata kit. We climb down a few meters on the side opposite the one we took going up, reaching the start of the ferrata.

Secured to our guide and the metal cable, we continue the itinerary along the beautiful ledge that runs along the huge majestic face of Tofana di Mezzo and to a steep descending slope leading to Vallon de Tofana. To reach the summit we need to go back up the couloir for about 150 meters, reaching the pass where we can enjoy a magnificent view. The great off-piste ski run stretches for over 900 meters and unfolds at first along a deep and steep valley; then it goes on gentler and wider slopes leading to Rifugio Dibona. From there we go down a snowy trail and ski slopes to the cable car station in Cortina, a descent totaling an elevation loss of almost 2000 meters.

The excursion to the Vallon de Tofana has an elevation loss of 900 meters on the off-piste in addition to regular ski slope sections. It requires good training and mastering of skiing techniques because of its BSA (Good Mountain Skier) rating. Maximum incline is 40 degrees.
