Mont Blanc Royal Traverse schedule

Day One
The mountaineers will meet their mountain guide in Chamonix at the parking lot of the Mount Aiguille de Midi cable car station. After checking the equipment the climbers will take a taxi to Les Contamines from where they will "attack" the trail towards Refuge des Conscrits. After passing the old Hotel di Trelatete where it is possible to take refreshment, the trail climbs up through some equipped stretches and an evocative Tibetan bridge. Through an extremely evocative climb the mountaineers will reach Refuge des Conscrits where they will spend the night.

Day Two
The climb will start again early in the morning on the trail to Mount Aiguille de la Berangere that during its last stretch is equipped with ropes. From this first summit, 3673 meters, the traverse of Mount Domes de Miage starts developing through marvelous and scenic snowy ridges. The crest, then, from the last peak -3668 meters-, gets rocky and it leads to a nice descent to Mount Col de Miage and to the little and very evocative hut Refuge Durier where the climbers will spend the night.

Day Three
The climb will resume in the middle of the night. A nice trail will bring the mountaineers to the start of the snowy ridge and to a rock jump that involves a very thrilling climbing section. The ridge, then, gets snowy again; on its sharp edge the climbers will reach the summit of Mount Aiguille de Bionassay. Going down towards Mount Col de Bionasssay, the ridge is one of the thinnest and most exposed of all the Alps. Climbing back up to Mount Piton des Italiens the ridge gets wider and it leads to Mount Domes de Gouter from where the climbers will go up through the ridge Bosses before reaching the summit of Mont Blanc. The view definitely lives up to the reputation of the most renowned peak in the Alps and the emotions one gets from up there are peerless. It is also possible to end this marvelous traverse going down to Mount Aiguille de midi through the "Trois Mont Blanc" itinerary.
