Mont Blanc with its 4810 meter elevation is the highest and most prestigious peak in the Alps. Since when, on August 8th 1786, Jacques Balmat and Michel Paccard conquered its summit, every mountain lover wants to reach it at least once in a lifetime.

The view that this peak offers is spectacular and endless. The climb to its summit from Rifugio Gonella is the Normal Route from the Italian side (Via Normale Italiana). Compared to the French Normal Route this climb is longer but incredibly charming; it is less popular and it allows to reach the summit without any cable car ride.
