The freeride ski excursion to valley Valle del Lys -or Valle Perduta- in the Monte Rosa Range, is a particularly charming and spectacular itinerary. The environment that it crosses makes justice to the great reputation of this marvelous alpine area.  A very demanding ski tour with a descent featuring most of the issues that can be found during a long high mountain off-piste ski ride.

The ski experience, though, is superb and it is a great reward for all the necessary efforts. Unforgettable experiences and breath taking landscapes are guaranteed. The descent through valley Valle Perduta and through Mount Malfatta are two among the itineraries that created the myth of the Pink Powder.

Information about the freeride skiing to Lys Valley

After taking the ski-lift, the path reaches glacier Ghiacciaio Indren that must be crossed heading to an evident rocky area. After reaching and overtaking a short snowy slope, the hikers will head east towards an evident hill on the crest and they will reach the summit and they will enter the narrow and steep couloir that leads to the underlying slopes.

The mountaineers will, then, ski down freely heading south until the moraine that skirts the glacier. Passed the moraine, the path directly accesses the glacier. After crossing the wide plateau towards the “Bettaforca” side, the path goes down through the woods and to the plateau right by a nice mountain cottage. As it keeps going through the woods, the path will shortly reach the Bettaforca ski track and then the village of Stafal.

The freeride ski excursion to valley Valle del Lys is a very demanding itinerary, particularly through the couloir that accesses valley Valle del Lys, very steep and narrow; the path calls for good high mountain and glacier experience.
