Information about the freeride skiing in Mont Blanc to Marbrèe

The freeride skiing in Mont Blanc to Marbrèe starts from the Rifugio Torino. The path goes up through the track trod by the snow cats and then it goes down in the glacial plain towards Mount Dent du Géant. From the foot of Mount Aiguille du Marbrées the free-riders will go up towards Mount Dent du Géant and they will go round the rocky bastion to reach Mount Col du Roquefort that offers a spectacular view on the underlying valley Val Ferret.

Facing the access -steep and definitely exposed- the path keeps going until the head of the couloir that falls down towards glacier Ghiacciaio di Roquefort and it stretches towards the valley through the seracs of glacier Ghiacciaio di Roquefort until it reaches the lower plains of Roquefort towards Planpincieux.

From there two different freeride paths are possible:

Freeride ski descent through Planpincieux: from the lower plains the free-riders will pass some couloirs reaching the beautiful underlying slopes and the marvelous conifer woods towards the village. A shuttle bus service allows to get back to La Palud.

Freeride ski descent towards La Palud: the descent starts through the steep couloir that connects the plains to the underlying valley. Once out of the couloir the path moves to the right side and it keeps going through marvelous slopes to reach the steep couloirs that lead to the brook flowing under Mount Pavillon. From there the free-riders will chose the best descending line to reach the tracks that come down from Mount Pavillon and to get to La Palud through a marvelous track and an evocative little street.

The freeride skiing in Mont Blanc to Marbrèe features an off-piste itinerary for expert steep skiers.
