Information about the via Ferrata to Tofana di Mezzo

This is a long and spectacular climb along a thrilling bolted route rich in sharp spurs, vertical faces, hanging ledges, exposed traverses and metal aiders. The route is recommended to climbers who are well trained and have good climbing ability. The excursion starts at Rifugio Dibona, reached by car from the road from Cortina to Passo Falzarego. After a 45 minutes approach we start the via ferrata Olivieri up to the top of Punta Anna at 2731 meters. We continue on the via ferrata Aglio leading to the Bus di Tofana. Then, always along bolted sections, we reach the cross on the summit of the Tofana di Mezzo at 3244 meters, where we enjoy a spectacular view, to say the least.

We come down from the top by the Freccia del Cielo cable car to the Ra Valles station, then we continue on a bolted route to Pomedes and finally to Rifugio Dibona on a normal trail. Upon request we can organize a taxi service from the start of the Freccia del Cielo cable car to Rifugio Dibona and come down by cable car from the top of the Tofana di Dentro directly to downtown Cortina.
