It crosses sweet alpine pastures, exciting slopes and couloirs and a wonderful glacier. Information about the ski mountaineering to Mont Dolent

The backcountry skiing in Aosta Valley to Mont Dolent starts from the little village of Arnouva, at an elevation of 1769 meters; the path starts going up in a really evocative environment heading for the Pré de Bar chalets (2062 meters).

Through evocative couloirs and morainic humps the path proceeds and it goes up to Petit Col Ferret, at an elevation of 2490 meters. The backcountry skiing itinerary, then, turns with a long traverse at the base of Mount Punta Allobrogia before continuing heading north-west.

On comfortable terrain and surrounded by marvelous views, the hikers will reach bivouac Bivacco Cesare Fiorio. From the bivouac the path keeps going until it reaches glacier Ghiacciaio di Pré de Bar on which it keeps going heading north to the wide col aside of the mountaintop.

After leaving their skis, the hikers will walk up through the steep couloir that leads to the sharp north-east ridge that leads all the way to the summit. The marvelous descent ski ride develops through the climb route.
