Information about the ski mountaineering excursion

Two days of ski mountaineering in the Dolomites at Fanes Alp, in the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Natural Park, inclusive of two pleasant and interesting itineraries for ski mountaineering in the mountains surrounding the Rifugio Fanes, where we are going to spend one night.

The Rifugio Fanes, at 2060 meters, is a best foothold for ski mountaineering excursions and is in a strategic location and surrounded by: Varella, Cima Dieci, Cima Nove, Col Becchei and Monte Castello. The Lodge offers refined accommodations, with beautiful rooms and fine dining.

Program and technical information

First day

The excursion starting point is Passo Falzarego, where we will take the Lagazuoi cable car that leads up to the mountain hut Rifugio Lagazuoi, 2800 metres a.s.l., with its panoramic terrace overlooking the most amazing landscape of the Dolomites.

We make our descent along the Lagazuoi Alp, reaching the small Scotoni Lake. From here we start climbing to Forcella del Lago along the beautiful and wide Campestrin Valley, up to the top. We ski downhill following along varied and articulated slopes toward Tadega Pass, finally reaching the Fanes Lodge for dinner and the overnight stay.

Second day

You will spend the one overnight stays in the mountain hut Rifugio Fanes, a very nice and cosy typical hut that offers to the hikers rooms and facilities, as well as a wide choice of excellent traditional mountain dishes.
