Program of the Sorapiss 2-day loop trip

Day 1
The clock-wise developing Sorapiss loop tour starts and ends by Passo Tre Croci; through a trail we reach the beautiful and typical turquoise colored lake Lago del Sorapiss and the renowned Rifugio Vandelli. The itinerary keeps its climb through the beautiful Via Ferrata Vandelli and then, through alpine trails, we get to the charming Rifugio San Marco - very much appreciated by the hikers for its great and natural cuisine - where we will stay overnight (breakfast and dinner).

Day 2
Early in the morning we climb up towards Forcella Grande and through a spectacular environment we reach Bivacco Slataper. After going down through Via Ferrata Berti, we keep going through Cengia del Banco until the shelf of Mount Sorapiss, a wonderful and scenic observation point on the Conca Ampezzana. Going down a fantastic graveled trail, then, we will get back to the turquoise lake and to Passo Tre Croci.

The Sorapiss 2-day trip, with 2 via ferratas, developing within a spectacular and immaculate natural environment, offers unique views of peerless beauty and it stretches before the most beautiful and renowned mountains: Tre Cime di Lavaredo, the Marmarole Range, Mount Cristallo, Mount Antelao, Mount Pelmo, Mount Croda da Lago, the Tofane, Mount Civetta, Mount Marmolada and other Dolomite mountains.

The Sorapiss loop tour is recommended to the well trained and fit hikers. The progression develops on rocky and sometimes exposed ground. Both days require six to eight hours of climbing.
