Information about via Ferrata Gustavo Vidi

The equipped trail Gustavo Vidi, that gives the hikers the chance to go round the Orti della Regina, is a loop tour that connects Passo del Grostè and Rifugio Graffer. It does not feature relevant technical issues but it calls for steady stride and no vertigo since it features long stretches on particularly exposed, not equipped, ledges.

The path is equipped with ladders and metal wires. The trickiest passage is a long, narrow and exposed ledge that does not offer any assistance. The via ferrata features a 220 meters elevation gain, 800 meters for the whole excursion.

The excursion starts from Campo Carlo Magno, right above the village of Madonna di Campiglio. The hikers can reach Passo Grostè, at an elevation of 2442 meters, walking or taking the cable car. That’s where the approach starts. An easy and evocative trail will lead to the attack of the via ferrata. The return leads down to “Orto della Regina". After going down to Rifugio Graffer the hikers will reach the cable car that will take them to Campo Carlo Magno. As an alternative, one can walk down the trail that leads to the starting point.
