Information about the snowshoeing to Rocchetta di Prendera

The excursion on snowshoes starts in Campo, a borough of Cortina, where we leave our car. The first section, on a trail in the woods - negotiated optionally by snowmobile - leads to Malga Federa at an elevation of 1816 meters. From the malga we proceed on snowshoes in a spectacular environment, along woods and wide and large pastures gently climbing and getting beneath the long Rocchette bastion. We continue along a nice ridge reaching the cross on the summit of the Rocchetta di Pendera. From the summit we can admire a spectacular view over the Dolomites and the Ampezzo basin. We negotiate the descent following the upward tracks or picking different lines along the wide slopes leading back to Malga Federa.
