Information about the ski mountaineering excursion to Tofana di Rozes

The ski mountaineering itinerary starts from the Dibona Lodge when it can be reached directly by car, or from the intersection of the road leading to the Lodge. The climb to the Tofana di Rozes initially follows a gentle and wide slope and later heads off towards a steeper couloir taking us to the vicinity of the old Rifugio Cantore. From there we begin the long climb on the majestic northeast face of the Tofana di Rozes; then we continue along the spectacular summit ridge until we reach the cross on the top. This is a section which always inspires strong emotions in the hiker, offering a view of unbelievable beauty.

The descent is as thrilling and exciting. We take the same itinerary as on the way up or, if conditions allow it, we take the “direct route”, a vertical line of descent providing an unforgettable experience.

The ski mountaineering excursion to the Tofana di Rozes has an elevation gain of 1200 meters from the Dibona Lodge and 1700 from the road. It requires good training and mastering of ski mountaineering techniques because of the BSA (Good Mountain Skier) rating. Maximum incline is 40 degrees.
