Information about the ski mountaineering excursion to Cima Vezzana from the Canalino del Travignolo

The excursion starts from the parking lot at the foot of Val Venegia; crossing the bridge, we climb up through the Val Venegia forest track until Malga Venegia, at an elevation of 1778 meters. We keep going through the valley heading south towards the foot of Glacier Travignolo that we can now glimpse between Mount Cimon della Pala and Mount Cima Vezzana. Climbing up through the wide amphitheater we reach the narrow couloir that leads to Passo di Travignolo, at an elevation of 2185 meters. From the pass we climb up heading to the slope that allows to go round Cima Vezzana’s shoulder. As we keep going through the ridge of the north side we reach the summit from where the view is really beyond words. The steep and technical descent takes place through the climb route.

The ski mountaineering excursion to Cima Vezzana from the Canalino del Travignolo features a 1515 meters elevation gain and loss. It requires good training and mastering of technical skills of ski mountaineering and is rated as OSA (Excellent Mountain Skier). Maximum incline is 48 degrees.
