The ski mountaineering to Cima Solda starts from Rifugio Forni and through an evocative mule track it climbs up on steep hairpin turns, it goes round the ridge that leads to valley Val Cedec and it reaches Rifugio Pizzini. Through a constantly easy and evident path, the hikers will go up to station of the cableway that serves Rifugio Casati.

The path goes up until it enters the first evident couloir. On milder declivity, then, it climbs up to the base of the steep ridge on which the final part of the nice summer trail to Rifugio Casati develops. From the rifugio, at an elevation of 3254 meters, the hikers will keep climbing towards the ridge and, passing a wide hump, they will get to the summit.

It is also possible to climb directly to the summit: from the cableway station one could climb up straight through the steep slope going round the rocky section on the south side of Mount Cima Solda going up all the way to the summit.

The very beautiful descent ski ride takes place through one of the two possible climb routes.

The ski mountaineering excursion to Cima Solda (Sulden-Spitze) leads to an elevation of 3387 meters. The itinerary is rated as BSA (good ski mountaineer). The path faces south/southwest and it features a 1200 meter elevation gain. The itinerary can be done in 4/6 hours, depending on the conditions of weather and snow.
