The excursion starts from Plaza climbing up through the beautiful forest track we reach Malga Brenta Bassa, at an elevation of 1268 meters, and the cableway to Rifugio Brentei. With our skis on our back we go up a ledge and after passing the Scala della Val Brenta we get to the plain of Malga Brenta Alta, at an elevation of 1666 meters. The view is fantastic: the white walls stand out behind the green woods giving the hikers thrilling emotions. As we keep climbing through valle Val Brenta the view is amazing; we go round Crozzon di Brenta and we reach Rifugio Brentei, at an elevation of 2120 meters.

As we keep going through a narrow cleft we get to a steep slope at the foot of the west side of “I Gemelli” and we keep going until we reach Rifugio Alimonta (2850 meters) within Vedretta degli Sfulmini, surrounded by majestic walls. Heading east we reach Bocchetta Molveno, at an elevation of 2729 meters, squeezed between Mount Cima Molveno and Mount Cima degli Armi. The ski descent is smooth and marvelous but it calls for caution while crossing the “scala”.

The ski mountaineering excursion to Bocchetta Molveno features a 1581 meters elevation gain and loss. It requires good training and mastering of technical skills of ski mountaineering and is rated as OS (Excellent Skier). Maximum incline is 40 degrees.
