Information about the ski mountaineering excursion to Forcella Grande

The ski mountaineering itinerary starts at the top station of the Lagazuoi cable car. After a long traverse and an easy climbing stretch taking us to the della Chiesa Bivouac, we face the long and beautiful descent along pristine and gentle slopes heading to the Travenanzes Valley, right across the majestic yellow faces of Fanis.

After the descent, we put the seal skins back on to climb up again, reaching Forcella Grande. With a beautiful and long ski run, first along a steep couloir, continuing along spacious gentler slopes, ending in a narrow canyon, we reach Capanna Alpina, where we take a taxi to head back to Falzarego Pass.

The ski mountaineering excursion to Forcella Grande has an elevation gain of 600 meters and an elevation loss of 1000 meters. It requires good training and mastering of technical skills of ski mountaineering and is rated PD (Not Quite So Difficult). Maximum incline is 40 degrees

  • Participants Anyone over the age of 16, with an adequate level of training and fitness, can participate in this experience.
