Information about the ski mountaineering excursion at Cadini di Misurina

The ski mountaineering itinerary starts at 1756 meters elevation at Torre del Diavolo, the old abandoned ski lift at Cadini di Misurina. We climb the first stretch along the temporarily closed trail across the ski slope, coming up to the top through a nice pine and larch forest. From there we can enjoy the view of the majestic great amphitheater surrounding the trail to the Forcella della Neve in all its splendor. Keeping in the middle of this great deep valley, we climb until we head off to the right taking a long, narrow, and steep gully leading to the Forcella degli Angeli.

The gully is narrow and reaches 40 degrees on the incline. We climb up on skis almost all the way; we perform many about faces whilst the final stretch is done on foot with our skis on our backpack and crampons on, in case of icy snow. We negotiate the descent along the same itinerary we have previously climbed up, with the option to move to the right or the left side of the valley, choosing the best slope and the best snow.

The ski mountaineering excursion to the Forcella degli Angeli has a positive/negative elevation gain of 900 meters and a TD (Very Difficult) rating.
