Information about the ski mountaineering excursion to Cima Fradusta

The excursion in the Pale di San Martino starts from the parking lot of the Col Verde ski lift, just above the village of San Martino di Castrozza. After taking the cable car to Mount Rosetta, we go down heading north-east towards Rifugio Rosetta. With a traverse we climb up through the little valley heading west and we go round a hump. Now heading south-west, we keep climbing till the foot of a slope that will lead us towards Passo Pradidali.

As we keep climbing, slightly downhill, we reach Vedretta Fradusta from where we climb up through an evocative valley to the end of the north ridge of Cima Fradusta. As we keep climbing through the ridge we reach the summit. The descent takes place through the climb route. Possible interesting variation: skiing down the long and steep west slope. Only for very good skiers, though.

The ski mountaineering excursion to Cima Fradusta in the Pale di San Martino features a 500 meters elevation gain and loss and is rated as PD (Moderately Difficult). Maximum incline is 30 degrees.
