Mont Blanc with its 4810 meter elevation is the highest and most prestigious peak in the Alps. Since when, on August 8th 1786, Jacques Balmat and Michel Paccard conquered its summit, every mountain lover wants to reach it at least once in a lifetime. The view that this peak offers is spectacular and endless.
The Mont Blanc ski mountaineering excursion from Refuge des Cosmiques follows the French Normal Route. The climb to the summit is an extremely evocative yet demanding experience among snow, ice, crevasses, seracs and ridges. The spectacular and challenging descent along the steep and wild north face is the dream of all off-piste skiers.

Day 1
The ski mountaineering ascent to the summit of Mont Blanc starts from Chamonix, by the Aiguille de Midi cable car station where the alpine guide will supervise the check of all the equipment. Taking the cable car the mountaineers will reach Mount Aiguille de Midi from where they will go down through a thin and exposed ridge and through a beautiful glacier until they will reach Refuge des Cosmiques, marvelously fitted on a scenic rocky wall. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2
The ski mountaineers will resume their ascent with a comfortable stretch on Mount Col de Midi that will allow the bodies to warm up. The progression, then, gets steeper through the slopes of Mount Mont Blanc de Tacul and it goes all the way to the shoulder. Skiing up, then, on an evocative traverse the mountaineers will keep going under Mount Mont Maudit. Next comes a very steep stretch that leads to Mount Colle della Brenva from where the last climb starts. After climbing up the steep slope of Mount Mur de la Cote the ski mountaineers will overcome the large final hump. They will climb the last stretch that leads to the summit. The view that Mont Blanc offers is absolutely spectacular.
The off-piste skiing descent will take place through the immense north face and the majestic Bosson glacier. Then, the ski mountaineers will traverse under the Refuge of Grand Mulets and they will join the ski line descent to Plan des Aiguille at 2317 meters. Descent to Chamonix by cable car.
