Information about the Bovero via ferrata to Col Rosà

The Bovero via ferrata unfolds on the exposed southwest face of Col Rosà, the northern summit that closes the Ampezzo basin, a peak not so popular nor quite high at an elevation of 2166 meters. It is a pleasant climbing route with technical sections, exposed moves and a tricky traverse to the left.

The excursion starts in Fiames, on the outskirts of Cortina, along the road to Dobbiaco. We take the first trail in the woods skirting the orographic right side of the Boite river; then a winding trail leading up to Posporcora pass and the start of the via ferrata. We negotiate the descent following the Col Rosa' north ridge then heading back south to our starting point.
