The Castore mountaineering ascent to the summit at 4226 meters, in the Alps of Monte Rosa Range, is a spectacular alpine experience. Castore mountaineering ascent from Gressoney

Castore mountaineering ascent, passing through the Quintino Sella refuge, features an exciting, scenic and extremely rewarding alpine experience. It does not feature extreme technical issues but it entails a good physical effort and a certain confidence with elevation and high mountain environments.

Day 1
Meeting point and departure from Staffal at Gressoney-La-Trinité or Champoluc, Loc. Frachey. Ascent with the ski lift up to Colle Bettaforca (2700 m). About 3,5 hours walk to the refuge.
Dinner and overnight stay at the Quintino Sella Refuge (3585).

Day 2
After breakfast, early in the morning the ascent will start to the summit of Mount Castore. Descent by the same route and return to Gressoney-La-Trinité or Champoluc with lifts.
